An NV Energy crew will be replacing approximately 300 feet of old underground electrical cable in the Gardnerville Ranchos neighborhood on Thursday.
Because of the project, electric service won’t be available for much of the day to about 20 customers located on Mary Jo and Patricia, according to company spokesman Karl Walquist.
Other customers located in the Ranchos will be affected by intermittent outages, from about 30 to 45 minutes, during the start and finish of the project when employees will need to do some switching in order to isolate the section of cable that’s being replaced, and then re-energized later in the day. NV Energy has placed door hangers on homes advising the customers who will be out of service for much of the day, and they’ve posted signs elsewhere in the neighborhood to give residents a heads up concerning the shorter outages. The project is scheduled to last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
