Expert shows children how to read rocks

Reading “rocks” this summer. Learn about rocks, minerals, and mines at the Douglas County Public Library in Minden on 4 p.m. Tuesday. John from The Nevada Commission on Mineral Resources will talk about Nevada’s mines, rocks, and minerals.

Children may bring rock collections to the library and have them identified by an expert. A hands-on activity is also planned. This program is for ages five and up; everyone will take home a special rock. Please sign up today.
