Marine ID’d as victim in Caples Lake fatal accident

A 25-year-old Marine who served overseas was identified as the person killed at Caples Lake on April 15. Benjamin Keith Rauschenberger, 25, of Elwood, Ind., was travelling on Highway 88 and went over the edge of the roadway, landing 25 yards from the road, according to the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office. Rauschenberger was stationed at Pickel Meadows Mountain Warfare Training Center. The accident occurred at about 4:45 p.m. during a snowstorm. No one saw the accident occur.
