Edgewood Tahoe announces opening date

Award-winning Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, designed by George Fazio, has established itself as one of the premier golf courses on the West Coast. Since first opening in 1968, the famed course will open this year for its 45th season offering golf enthusiasts mid-week and weekend golf rates during peak playing time and twilight golf.

The course will be open on May 9th, 2013, with views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains creating an awe-inspiring atmosphere for guests’ springtime golf.

The launch of the 2013 season comes on the heels of over $1.6 million in course improvements, including upgrades to the irrigation system and the incorporation of drought and stress tolerant turf. The ongoing commitment to keep the course in top condition is part of a 10- year environmental master plan designed to improve the course’s environmental impact and reduce water usage. Golfers will be pleased with the new golf carts equipped with DSGTag GPS system that provides yardage, individual hole videos, and tips from the pro at every hole; a great addition for the all golfers at Edgewood.

Conveniently located just a short distance from South Lake Tahoe resorts and casinos, Edgewood also offers special packages aimed to entice golf lovers to stay and experience all that springtime in Lake Tahoe has to offer. Season Opening Packages will start at $159 for a mid-week stay at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe, including one room night and prime tee times. Edgewood’s own exclusive lakefront lodge, Julia Morgan-designed Twin Pines, and their beachfront home- The Beach House are both available for lodging as well.

Guests can book tee times by calling 866-761-GOLF (4653) To find out more about Edgewood Tahoe and the 2013 season visit us online at www.edgewoodtahoe.com.
