Gaming numbers in for February

Stateline casinos had another good month in February posting a 7.84 percent gain over the same month in 2012 and rounding the corner with the highest positive percentage year-to-year in the state. The clubs raked in $16.29 million during the month, up from $15.1 million last year.

General fund budget approved

County budget hearings went well last night and will continue today at 4 p.m. in the Douglas County Administration Center. Commissioners approved a balanced $45.43 million tentative general fund budget on Tuesday night.

Welcome to the TRPA

Planning commissioners approved four items that brought the Lake Tahoe portion of Douglas County into the master plan on Tuesday. The approvals were part of the TRPA’s strategic plan to bring local governments into planning decisions at Lake Tahoe.

Cold morning, warm day

It was chilly out this morning with my thermometer showing 29 degrees on the bench. The National Weather Service says the high could get to 72 degrees today. There’s a slight chance of showers on Thursday and again early next week.
