Sierra storm to leave slushy commute

A storm that could see snow in the Carson Valley is expected to roll in Sunday night, making for a slushy commute on Monday morning.

Scattered rain showers should make an appearance at about 7 tonight, turning to snow around midnight.

According to the National Weather Service, more than an inch of snow could accumulate before 5 a.m.

A wind advisory is in effect until 11 tonight with southwest to west winds blowing 20-35 mph and gusting to 55 mph in wind-prone areas.

Snow showers will accompany the passage of the cold front tonight. The Sierra could see 2-6 inches …
