Child Find screening in Minden on Friday

Douglas County School District is offering a free Child Find Screening 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Minden Elementary School, 1170 Baler St.

Anyone with concerns that their 3-5-year-old child may have delays in early childhood development with speech, language, cognitive, social or emotional skills, or fine or gross motor delays, this Child Find Screening is an opportunity to meet with school district staff and discuss those concerns. Those attending can follow the signs at the school to find the screening.

Should a child be suspected of having a disability, the child will then be recommended for further free-of-charge evaluations conducted by the school district and may be eligible for school services.

Due to limited space, pre-registration is required. Contact Caralee White at 265-5262, ext. 27, to request the registration form and to schedule the appointment.

Anyone unable to attend this free screening who suspects their child has a disability, may contact the Douglas County School District Special Services office at any time to request an evaluation for child.

Anyone with questions about Child Find or other early childhood services, may contact Special Education Programs Specialist Mary Jo Hollis in Douglas County School District Special Services at 265-5262.
