Hello to spring Antelope Valley

Last week we had such nice weather following such an unusual winter season.

It seemed like the warm weather might be here to stay, but in our valley and western Nevada, it doesn’t work that way.

Knowing that we need any rain we get, I can stand the off and on weather for a little while, but I’m really looking forward to continuous nice weather.

Student speakers

The District 46 Lions Club (which covers all of Nevada) speakers contest finals will be held Saturday in Pahrump. We all need to keep rooting for our Coleville High’s Lance Warner to move on even further in the competition.

Fishing season

The season has opened, but with lower than average water level in the river, as well as the weather at times, there hasn’t been a lot of action to write about.

I haven’t heard anything about how many or what size fish have been caught by the few anglers out there.

This and that

Last weekend was a special celebration of Clint and Effie Hershey’s 50th anniversary, attended by so many of their friends and family. Congrats to them!

The Walker Senior Center has a great menu of lunches for this month, in addition to the bingo games after lunch on Friday and May 23. They’re both worth your time.

I want to give a thank you again to all of you who have called us to see how Mike is doing after his surgery, as well as those wonderful people who have helped us with everyday help.
