Tahoe-Douglas Elks honored

Tahoe Douglas Elks Citizen of the Year Tom Zogorski wasn’t the only one to walk away with a plaque at the service organization’s Saturday dinner.

Neil Peddicord was named Elk of the Year, Neil and Toni Wendt was named Officer of the Year due to their dedication and many volunteer hours to helping the lodge.

Before announcing the awards, the Elks served a steak dinner for 100 attendees, with proceeds going to help fund the Elks Hoop Shoot Program.

Members of Douglas High School Jr. ROTC presented the flags, and dinner was served by members of DHS Key Club.

Jim Schramm was master of ceremonies and the event was organized by Chuck Harris.
