Earthquake hits eastern Douglas

A 2.95 magnitude earthquake was reported 7:13 a.m. Tuesday along the eastern portion of Antelope Valley near the Douglas-Lyon county line, according to the University of Nevada Seismological Laboratory.

A smaller aftershock of magnitude 1.5 struck at 7:42 a.m. near the earlier quake. Both were between 10 and 12 kilometers down. So far the U.S. Geological Survey site doesn't have anyone who reported feeling either earthquake.
