Morning report for Nov. 15

There’s an accident in the northbound lanes of Interstate 580 on Duck Hill north of Carson City. The accident occurred at 6:17 a.m. The Sierra Front is reporting it’s noninjury.

We’ve got a few things going on this weekend, including a workshop hosted by the Suicide Prevention Network today and Saturday, a coat drive at the Family Support Council and the Douglas County Public Library book sale. Find out more about these and other events in The Record-Courier calendar, on stands now.

It’s overcast outside and the temperature is only 11 degrees short of the 49-degree forecast high for the day. Whatever moisture was on its way here appears to have been sidetracked north, with just wind for us on Saturday.

There is a wetter storm predicted to arrive in California early next week that will bring snow to the west slope Sierra passes early next week. We’ll see what happens there.
