Service this spring for Minden stationmaster’s son

A memorial service is next spring for Nevada native and stationmaster’s son Franklin Gerald “Hap” Fisher, who would have turned 93 on Monday. The longtime Minden resident, who was born in Carson City Nov. 18, 1919, died Aug. 9, 2013. Fisher was born to Walt and Alice Fisher in their home on Roop Street in Carson City. His father took a job as the first stationmaster for the Virginia & Truckee Railroad in Minden, and his mother worked at the telephone exchange as a night operator.
