The R-C Morning Report for Oct. 22

East Fork and Carson City firefighters responded to an outside burn in the 3600 block of Silverado Drive in Jacks Valley at about 7:30 a.m. The fire turned out to be a backyard burn that was reported by a motorist on Highway 50.

Carson City resident Ann G. Syphus-Freed, 49, is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court this morning on a bench warrant issued after she failed to appear for arraignment on a charge of third DUI last week.

Ghost hunters will be haunting the CVIC Hall this evening as Rosemary Osborn from Otherside Investigations Nevada will be offering a free session on the hall. First 20 people signed up for the speech will get to go on a personal ghost investigation of the hall.

Weather looks like more of the same today, with the high temperature of 75 under sunny skies and a breeze in the afternoon out of the southeast at 5 mph.
