The RC Morning Report for Sept. 19

A settlement agreement with MV Transportation over the former operators of the Blue Go Bus is before Douglas County commissioners today. Douglas County and several other local governments who financed the South Tahoe Area Transit Authority are on the hook for $200,000 from a global agreement to clear up the lawsuit. Douglas is expected to pay its share from the loss provision account of the self-insurance account. Commissioners meet in the Stateline Transportation Center at 1:30 p.m. The meeting times out at two hours.

A trailer carrying a welder and a truck that had been reported stolen in Douglas County were found in Alpine County near Mud Lake on Wednesday morning. Authorities for both counties responded and are investigating the theft.

It’s sunny and cool here this morning with the temperature in the Valley center down to 33 degrees. A fire weather watch has been issued for Friday starting at 11 a.m. and ending early Saturday. But today will be nice with sunny skies and a high near 80 and a light breeze through the day.
