17 arrested in Mono County saturation patrol

What amounted to a law enforcement full-court press in northern Mono County resulted in the arrests of 17 people on felony charges over the course of four days ending Sunday. Called a saturation patrol, the tactic involved officers from the Mono County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol, the Eldorado County Sheriff’s Office and the police departments of Mammoth Lakes, Bishop and South Lake Tahoe. Mono County Sgt. Seth Clark said the purpose of the exercise was to catch people transporting illegal narcotics through the county.
