Douglas Emergency Management offers tips to stay cool

In anticipation of this weekend’s predicted record-breaking high temperatures, Douglas County Emergency Management recommended steps residents can take to protect themselves from the effects of extreme heat. The heat wave is expected to last through at least Tuesday. Excessive heat warnings are in effect through 8 p.m. Tuesday. Residents and visitors can expect temperatures to reach forecasted levels above 100 degrees through July 2, with potential to tie or break all-time record highs throughout the state.
