A 44-year-old Gardnerville Ranchos man who stole from his parents was sent to prison Monday for six years after his probation was revoked.
William J. Ledford Jr., must serve a minimum of 16 months before he is eligible for parole.
“Your record is one full of excuses, complications and finger-pointing at others,” said District Judge Michael Gibbons. “It’s time for you to take responsibility for your own actions.”
Ledford admitted numerous probation violations on Monday, but asked Gibbons for another opportunity to complete drug court.
“I need rehabilitation more than I need prison,” he said.
Violations included use of methamphetamine, failure to report residence, living in an unapproved residence, curfew violation and failure to pay fees or restitution.
Ledford pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property, admitting took jewelry and a tablet from his parents and pawned them.
