Man pleads guilty to third felony DUI

A Gardnerville Ranchos man who has served two prison sentences for drunk driving faces up to 15 years for his third felony conviction after he changed his plea to guilty weeks before he was to go on trial. Scott Ryan Woods, 37, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, avoiding an habitual criminal enhancement were he convicted at trial. District Judge Michael Gibbons ordered Woods held without bail pending sentencing July 1. In a plea agreement, Woods pleaded guilty to driving under the influence with a prior felony conviction. In exchange for his plea, the state dropped a felony charge of habitual criminal. …
