Charges filed in deadly crash

The Albuquerque police officer responsible for the crash that killed former Gardnerville resident Ashley Browder is facing a charge of vehicular homicide in the deadly accident. Bernillo County Sheriff’s investigators turned the result of their probe into the crash on Tuesday. According to Albuquerque television station KOB, a hearing has been set for April 9 for charges against Sgt. Adam Casaus.

Controlled burn

Firefighters are on scene at a controlled burn on Albite in Topaz Ranch Estates this morning. The report was that the burn is larger than regulation. Firefighters are also responding to a noninjury accident in Minden near Douglas High School.

It will be nice today, but there is a chance of showers starting Thursday and lasting through Easter. Expect partly cloudy skies and a high temperature in the 60s today. It will be breezy in the afternoon.
