Unemployment numbers up slightly

Douglas County’s unemployment numbers for March crept back up to 9.9 percent, according to figures released Monday by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

The number of Douglas workers on the jobless roles remained stable at 2,090, while the number of employed workers dropped 20 to 19,130. The numbers reflect the workers who’ve filed with the state, and does not account for those who’ve stopped looking for work.

Neighboring Lyon County continues to have the highest unemployment rate in the state at 12.6 percent.

That’s down slightly from February, when it was 12.7 percent.
