Douglas High grad joins Brady and Associates
July 5, 2013
Gardnerville resident and 2004 Douglas High grad Chris Honer has joined Brady and Associates in Minden — a financial services firm that focuses on investment planning and wealth management.
"Our broker-dealer, LPL Financial, allows Brady and Associates to use investment strategies beyond those typically available at other firms with no bias toward proprietary investments," Honer said in a press release. "It allows us to work with individuals across all demographics. However, it especially positions us to serve high-net-worth individuals and small businesses. We also provide financial planning services on a flat fee and hourly basis."
Honer, 26, has lived in Douglas County since the second grade. After graduating from Douglas High, he moved to San Diego to attend Point Loma Nazarene University, where he played baseball. He earned his bachelor's degree and master's degree in business administration.
"I was a financial advisor for three years with Waddell and Reed in San Diego, and decided to change firms due to the limited investment options available to my clients," he said. "I decided to join LPL Financial and Brady and Associates. Dave Brady has been a certified financial planner for 25 years."
Honer was hired by the Minden firm about three and a half months ago. He and his wife Lisa, also a Douglas County native, have since moved back to Gardnerville.
Honer said he and Brady work well together.
"Our age difference (Brady is 57) uniquely positions us to work with clients on inter-generational investment management and legacy planning."
Brady and Associates is located at 1625 Highway 88, Suite 202, Minden.
