Cagey Quilter open in Minden

Opening up a fabric and quilting store has been a lifelong dream for Debbie Pastini, owner of Cagey Quilter in Minden.

“This is where I live and work,” said Pastini. “I was originally going to start an online business but the opportunity for the building came up and so I decided to just go for it.”

The store opened Nov. 22.

“So far, everyone has said they think it’s really great to have another quilting store in town. There is more of a variety in town, and they are happy to see the prices,” said Pastini. “Good variety, good prices they’ve said.”

Cagey Quilter offers a variety of quilts and fabrics all 100 percent cotton at low prices. Customers can purchase the fabrics and use them for quilting, clothing and other crafts, said Pastini. She said sewing services within the store are not available at this time, but she can recommend customers elsewhere.

Pastini finds the business rewarding.

“What’s been best is meeting all the people,” she said. “All of the customers that have come in have had real positive attitudes, so that has been most rewarding and helping them meet their quilting needs.”

Cagey Quilter is located at 1561 Highway 395 in Minden. They are open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and are closed Sunday and Monday.
