The R-C Morning Report for Oct. 10

The phones are back up in Alpine County. Frontier told them that the phones would be back at 8 p.m. last night. The county’s phones had been out since Sunday, with the outage spreading to the rest of eastern Alpine on Tuesday.

The Tiger band did very well at the McQueen Extravaganza last weekend winning first place in the AAA division overall and taking firsts for brass, woodwinds and guard-pagentry.

“We are very proud of our marching band and pageantry members and of Mrs. Owens the director,” Principal Marty Swisher said. “They have done an incredible job with the amount of time they have had to prepare.”

It’s clear and cold out this morning with the low down around freezing in Minden. The Heavenly Valley snow telemetry site is reporting .3 inches of moisture and a dusting of snow. Minden saw .03 inches with a little more in the west.

Expect sunny skies today with a high of 64 degrees and the wind out of the west at 5-10 mph.
