Ted Thran, Jeri Johnson elected to chamber board

The votes were counted May 21, and in a close election, Ted Thran, representing Ted Thran CPA and Jeri Johnson of Nevada State Bank have been elected by the membership to the Board of Directors of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Both will take their seats at the June meeting of the board and will serve through 2017.

“Our thanks to the members who voted, to candidates Rick Ackerson, Bill Driscoll, Andrew Haskins and Marie Stokes for stepping up and being willing to serve, to David Aymami, Jessica Jensen, Bobbi Thompson and Kathi Rittenhouse for counting ballots and to Bill Henderson for making sure there were no hanging chads,” Executive Director Bill Chernock said.

The official installation of the 2104-2015 board will be on the evening of July 16.

Tahoe Tony’s celebrates grand opening

Tahoe Tony’s Jammin Jerky is celebrating its grand opening 2-6 p.m. Saturday at 1649 Lucerne Street, in the Minden Village.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is 3 p.m. Live music provided by Martina Dayton and the Markleevillians. Margaritas and fajitas for sale.
