‘Keep Nevada Blue’ dinner Saturday

Douglas County Democrats will launch their “Take the House Back” campaign at their Keep Nevada Blue dinner Saturday.

Keynote speaker Nevada State Treasurer Kate Marshall, Democratic candidate for Nevada Secretary of State, will be introduced by State Senator Debbie Smith.

Marshall was first elected Treasurer in 2006. Smith represents State Senate District 13 and was elected in 2012.

She served as an Assembly member in District 30 and was named Speaker Pro Tem in 2011.

Raffle prizes include a 40-inch smart TV and a wheelbarrow of wine.

Doors at Carson Valley Inn open at 6 p.m. with no-host cocktails. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.

Republican Women host Assembly forum

The Douglas County Republican Women will host a forum for Assemblyman District 39 Jim Wheeler and challenger Robin Reedy on April 2 at the Carson Valley Inn.

Doors open at 11 a.m and lunch begins at 11:45 a.m.

Cost is $20 with a reservation and $25 without a reservation.
