Traffic stop yields Walker drug arrests


A Saturday night traffic stop in Walker resulted in the arrest of two Southern California residents on multiple drug charges.

Braden Marsh, 22, and Merissa Sanchez, 18, both of Escondido, Calif., were arrested after they were pulled over for speeding on Highway 395 near Hackney Drive.

Deputies reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle, and after conducting a search they found a black purse under the rear passenger seat floor board, containing 300 grams of cannabis candies, 4 grams of cannabis wax, nine grams of psilocybin mushrooms, two tabs of LSD, five capsules of ecstasy and seven grams of marijuana. Deputies also found a digital scale, plastic bags, a glass pipe. Located along the vehicle’s center console were two large glass bongs.

Marsh was arrested for possession of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance for sale; transportation of a controlled substance; possession of concentrated cannabis; possession of marijuana for sale; and possession of marijuana while driving.

Sanchez was arrested for possession of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance for sale; transportation of a controlled substance; possession of concentrated cannabis; and possession of marijuana for sale.

Both were booked into Mono County Jail in Bridgeport and were still in custody on Thursday morning.

All charges are pending with the Mono County District Attorney’s Office.
