Sage grouse comment deadlines passing

Some federal comment periods dealing with the listing of the bistate sage grouse as an endangered species deadline today.

This is the last day to comment on changes to the land use plans for the Toiyabe National Forest and Bureau of Land Management Carson District plans dealing with the listing of the bistate and greater sage grouse.

Comments for the draft land use plan amendments for the Bureau of Land Management are due Jan. 29, and comments to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to protect the bistate sage grouse under the Endangered Species Act are due on Feb. 10.

To comment on amendments to the Toiyabe National Forest land and resource management plan and the BLM Battle Mountain and Carson City districts resource management plans, contact James Winfrey at jwinfrey@fs.fed.us.

Comments on the Nevada-Northeastern California greater sage grouse draft land use plan amendments and environmental impact statement are due Jan. 29 can be sent to Chris Rose at crose@blm.gov.

Comments on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposal to protect the bistate distinct population segment of greater sage-grouse as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act and to designate 1.86 million acres can be sent to Jeannie_Stafford@fws.gov.
