School’s back in session today after the winter break that seemed too short for the kids and probably too long for parents. Watch out for buses picking students up and for children walking to school. School zones on highways 395 and 88 should be fired up now.
We’ll find out who won a year’s free garbage service today at the Gardnerville Town Board meeting 4:30 p.m. today. Also the town board will discuss a bill from the Minden Gardnerville Sanitation District for sewer service to the Eagle Gas Station that went unpaid.
A South Lake Tahoe couple is scheduled to be arraigned in Douglas County District Court this morning on burglary charges. Jean and Joseph Winters waived their right to a preliminary hearing and could enter guilty pleas today. A third person, Jeffrey Lee Stephens plans to seek a preliminary hearing on Jan. 17.
It looks like the clouds are leaving us this morning as another weak disturbance rolled through Monday night. We might see some rain still on Thursday, but there won’t be much. Today expect partly cloudy skies with a high temperature of 47-52 degrees, and a southwest wind picking up in the afternoon to 10 mph.
