The R-C Morning Report for Dec. 27

Douglas County’s total assessed value is $2.597 billion, according to the 2014-15 secured assessment roll in today’s edition of The Record-Courier. If you think you’re property is less valuable than listed, contact the Assessor’s Office. The deadline to appeal assessed valuation is Jan. 15. If you think your property value is higher than listed, you probably should keep that to yourself.

One of the few mornings when we don’t have freezing fog, there’s some in lots of places surrounding us. If you’re headed east on I-80, Highway 50 or Highway 95 or north on Highway 395 to Susanville, keep a weather eye out.

Meanwhile, in Carson Valley it’s just freezing out. The car showed 11 degrees at sunrise, and it’s 17 degrees in Minden now. It will warm up today to 46 degrees.
