The R-C Morning Report for Dec. 18

The Nevada Highway Patrol’s web site is listing an accident at Highway 395 and Jacks Valley Road in the northbound lanes. The accident occurred at 6:50 a.m. No injuries are reported.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for 2 a.m. to noon Thursday calling for snow to develop early Thursday morning with the heaviest falling in the Reno and Carson City areas between 4 and 8 a.m. Accumulations are forecast to be 1-4 inches.

Five hours of unhealthy air was recorded at the Ranchos Aspen Park air quality monitor operated by the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection. The wind should help clear that out when it picks up around 10.

We’re going to see our warmest temperature in December so far with 51 degrees today. The wind will be 5-15 mph out of the southwest. Even after the storm passes, the high temperatures will remain above freezing through Christmas Eve.
