The R-C Morning Report for Dec. 11

Carson Valley Middle School is open this morning after a break in the fire sprinkler shut off water to a wing of the school on Tuesday. In all, East Fork firefighters have responded to seven buildings with frozen fire sprinkler pipes and one instance where a pipe on Aspen Grove broke over the kitchen, flooding the attic, prompting the ceiling to collapse.

School board trustees approved three resolutions to amend their budget. District Financial Officer Holly Luna said it was the first year since 2008 that the money the district gets from the state per student went up.

There’s some pogonip in the trees this morning along Genoa Lane courtesy of the freezing fog down by the river. It was pretty thick, but it will burn off by noon, the Weather Service says.

We’re looking for warmer temperatures over the next few days and we may just get them. Expect the high to hit 35 degrees under sunny skies today and 36 on Thursday before it heads north to 50 by Monday. It might even be nice this weekend.
