Main Street Gardnerville seeks new board member

The Main Street Gardnerville Board is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Deb Pierrel.

The successful applicant will serve until June 2015, and can request at that time to remain on the board for a three-year term.

Main Street Gardnerville is a self-help program partnering with various members of the community to revitalize the downtown. Even though Main Street Gardnerville focuses strictly on the downtown district, the program benefits the entire community and surrounding areas, said Paula Lochridge, program manager.

The Main Street Four-Point Approach is based on simultaneous work in the areas of organization, promotion, design, and economic restructuring, with emphasis on grass roots volunteerism and public participation.

Applications will be accepted until Jan. 8.

They should be sent to Main Street Gardnerville, 1407 Highway 395, Gardnerville, 89410.

Board applications and residency requirements are available at the Main Street Gardnerville offices and online at

Applications will be reviewed and a recommendation made by the Main Street Gardnerville board of directors at their meeting 6 p.m., Jan. 21.

The board meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Gardnerville Town Hall, 1407 Highway 395.
