Douglas jobless down to 9.4 percent

The number of jobless workers in Douglas County continued to drop in August, with a rate of 9.4 percent, down from 9.6 percent in July. According to the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, the number of unemployed was down 100 to 2,010 from July to August. The unemployment rate would be lower, but the total workforce in the county dropped to 21,400, its lowest level since April, with total employment at 19,390.
