The RC Morning Report for Sept. 11

It’s the 12th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The Sierra Nevada Republican Women’s annual dinner is tonight at the Genoa Country Club. Lt. Col David Hockaday is speaking.

Nevada’s county and city illuminati will be all over Stateline today and Thursday as the Nevada League of Cities and the Nevada Association of Counties gather at the MontBleu for a rare joint conference.

The Rim fire hit 255,146 acres, or 399 square miles, and remains at 80 percent contained. The cost to date is $102 million. The fire isn’t smoking much, which is good for us.

It’s overcast, but smoke-free today. Expect mostly sunny skies with a high temperature of 87. The wind will be out of the west at 5 mph this afternoon.
