Suspects caught in recent burglaries

Two Gardnerville men were arrested Thursday, accused of the attempted burglary of a convenience store, a laundromat burglary, and five vehicle break-ins.

Sheriff Ron Pierini said Angel Razo-Ortega, 25, and Tanner Cooper, 21, were in Douglas County Jail on $75,000 bail each.

Both are charged with attempted robbery, burglary and conspiracy.

On Aug. 9, Pierini said, Razo-Ortega fled from the Sierra Market in Gardnerville after being thwarted by a clerk who refused to give him any money.

He reportedly entered the store, produced a BB handgun, and demanded the clerk fill a bag with money.
