A 57-year-old woman died after allegedly being stabbed by a family member in her South Lake Tahoe home sometime before 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to South Lake Tahoe Police Department.
Police arrested Sean-Paul Andrew MacIntire, 32, on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Shirley Gordon.
He has been booked into El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe.
Police said Gordon was sleeping on the couch at 1181 Wildwood Ave., a home shared with MacIntire and his mother.
About 1:45 a.m., police received a 911 call from MacIntire’s mother, who reported her son had stabbed Gordon. The woman told dispatchers she believed Gordon was dead and that MacIntire was still in the home.
“Medical personnel then immediately attempted to revive the victim,” police said. “Resuscitation efforts continued while she was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where she was declared deceased.”
MacIntire was arrested at the scene.
Detectives have obtained a search warrant of the home and are investigating the incident.
