The RC Morning Report for Aug. 5

It sounds like Douglas High School Band Director Bill Zabelsky has called it quits. Several people posted their congratulations on his retirement on his Facebook Page. Summer band practice is supposed to start 9 a.m. today, but there’s a pretty good chance it’s not happening. I’ve got a call in to Douglas High Principal Marty Swisher to find out for sure. I’ll post it when I know more.

There are just short of a dozen cases going before District Judge Michael Gibbons this morning including three sentencings and four probation violations. Including 56-year-old Adelina Osorio had been on probation for felony possession of methamphetamine for four months when she was arrested for stealing at the Walmart in early July.

Voting for Best of Carson Valley wraps up Friday. You can vote online at recordcourier.com. Scroll down on the home page if you’re looking for it.

Expect mostly sunny skies with a high temperature around 90 and the wind out of the west, shifting to northeast around lunchtime.
