RC Morning Report for July 19

I expect to hear from the Nevada Highway Patrol on the identification of the driver killed in Thursday’s accident this morning. When I get it I’ll post it online.

There’s a lot going on this weekend in Carson Valley, including the Little City Stage Race in Minden on Saturday and Sunday. For more visit www.littlecitystagerace.com. For a different kind of riding, the Ranch Rodeo is at the fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children. For more pick up a copy of today’s Record-Courier and check out the calendar.

A heat advisory has been issued for the valleys of Western Nevada, including Carson Valley effective at 1 p.m. today. We could see some record-breaking temperatures in Minden, though the forecast hasn’t got us going above 102 on Sunday, which is short of the 104 record.

The real issue for us may be thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday, which could start new fires. We’re just now getting over the July 4 lightning strikes. Expect a high temperature of 99 today.
