GE Bently Nevada hosts July 28 military appreciation fair

GE’s Bently Nevada will host its second annual appreciation fair for United States veterans and active military members 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 28.

The event provides an opportunity for veteran support organizations and local businesses to educate veteran and military families about the resources available to them.

At the same time, GE will be hosting the Hiring Our Heroes Job fair. The event features local businesses, including GE, that are actively hiring veterans.

Representatives from the GE Veterans Network, an employee group made up of veterans and supporters, will be available on site for interviews.

Honored keynote speaker Brig. Gen. William R. Burks, Adjutant General for the State of Nevada, will also be in attendance.

Hiring Our Heroes is part of GE’s national commitment to hire more than 5,000 veterans by 2017.

This year’s event is being presented in conjunction with the Reno-Tahoe Open as the official kick-off of the Northern Nevada Salute the Troops Week.

The event is free of charge and will offer several activities geared toward families. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

GE’s Bently Nevada is located at 1631 Bently Parkway South, Minden.
