The RC Morning Report for July 16

A Gardnerville Ranchos man who allegedly overdosed on heroin in Carson City and then three weeks later allegedly doused himself and a driver with gasoline while travelling down Highway 395 is scheduled to be in Douglas County District Court this morning for arraignment. Richard Vonderscher, 45, had an eventful June. We’ll see today how July turns out for him as he appears in District Judge Tod Young’s courtroom today to be arraigned.

We haven’t had too many semi trucks reported stuck on Highway 4 this season, but there was one on Sunday trying to climb Sonora Pass on Highway 108. It made it to the pack station before the curves became too sharp for the truck to make them.

Today should be sunny and mild with a high temperature of 88 degrees and southwest winds 5-10 mph increasing to 10-15 mph, with gusts of up to 25 mph in the afternoon.
