The RC Morning Report for July 12

We had another small earthquake in that spot between Double Spring Flat and Topaz Lake west of Highway 395 just after midnight today. A magnitude 1.2, so I doubt it was felt by too many folks.

This is a very busy weekend kicking off with a concert in Minden Park for those folks who love Jimmy Buffet as Garratt Wilkin & The Parrotheads take the stage 6:30 p.m. The chairs should be gathering as we speak. Pick up a copy of The Record-Courier and check the calendar for more events.

Today through Sunday, Gardnerville’s Stodick Park will be hosting the Nothern Sierra Fastpitch Tournament with 37 teams in five age categories. If I’m reading the form right, the Carson Valley Hot Schots 14U team is playing 8 a.m. today.

We’re looking at sunny weather with a high temperature of 87 degrees and the wind southwest at 5-15 mph, and more of the same this weekend. The high looks like it will barely crack 90 until Tuesday.
