Warm weather forecast for Carson Valley Days

It’s going to be a hot time this weekend as the annual Carson Valley Days parade and celebrations coincide with a heat wave.

Parade day will start out warm with the forecast calling for 64 degrees at 7 a.m. By the time Highway 395 closes for the parade the temperature is expected to rise to 70 degrees.

The forecast high temperature on Saturday of 96 degrees in Minden is just a degree off from the record of 97 set in 2003.

Paradegoers should bring plenty of water and wear a hat on Saturday to help prevent overheating.
