Gardnerville cleans up

There’s lots of good works under way this weekend including Kids Give Back 7-9 p.m. today at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, the Garden Cemetery Clean-up on Saturday morning and Team Elsie will be walking for cystic fibrosis at Trinity Lutheran Church 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Books, art and history

For those of a less physical nature, the Douglas County Public Library is hosting its book sale at the CVIC Hall in Minden, the Johnson Lane Art Tour kicks off at 10 a.m. and at noon they’ll be re-enacting Markleeville founder Jacob Markley’s untimely demise in the Alpine County seat.

Might be a little weather

There’s still a chance of thunderstorms after 11 a.m. today, but the weather will be cool with a high of 63 degrees. The weekend will be mild and sunny with the high never quite cracking 70 degrees.
