The Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program of Douglas County is holding orientation meetings Wednesday and Thursday for prospective volunteers.
CASA Director Linda Cuddy said new volunteer training is expected to begin in June, and the orientation sessions are a good opportunity for interested residents to learn about the program.
“If you have ever been interested in advocacy for children in crisis in our community, or if you have always wondered just what we do, you’re invited to join us,” Cuddy said.
The training is 2 p.m. in Courtroom 2 on the second floor of the Judicial and Law Enforcement Building on Buckeye Road, and lasts about an hour.
