The Douglas County Education Foundation is hosting the annual Golden Apple Awards dinner at the Carson Valley Inn inside the Sierra Banquet room on May 9.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
“This is great opportunity to come support your schools and teachers by being a part of a long tradition in Douglas County of honoring each school’s best teacher,” DCEF spokesperson Blaine Spires said in a press release.
All the proceeds from the event go back to the Ed Foundation, which uses the funds for classroom grants.
Superintendent Lisa Noonan will present the district’s teacher of the year at the event.
