The RC Morning Report for April 22

Shooting incident

I got a tip that Douglas County deputies are investigating a shooting that reportedly occurred late Saturday night at a Gardnerville address. Preliminary reports are that two men were fighting when a gun went off injuring a woman. I don’t have any word on her condition on any subsequent arrests.

Sentencing today

Sentencing of Steven J. Kozlowski is scheduled for this morning in Douglas County District Court. Kozlowski has been fighting a charge of felony DUI since he was arrested in 2011. Under a plea agreement, Kozlowski admitted to a charge of attempting to elude officers, which carries a 1-6 year sentence. In exchange, he’ll be allowed to plead guilty to misdemeanor DUI in justice court.

Plane crash follow-up

The names of the victims in an airplane crash that occurred in the Pine Nut Mountains a week ago may be released today. Federal investigators should be working on the cause of the crash this week.

Earth Day weather

It’s going to be a beautiful Earth Day to be outside today with sunny skies and a high temperature of 72 degrees. The north wind shifts to the west at 5-10 mph this morning.
