Saturday is Daffodil Day in Gardnerville

Heritage Park Gardens will kick off a new season of community gardening activities with a “Daffodil Day” event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Children (with an adult) can sign up for a square in the children’s garden to plant a favorite flower or vegetable. Master Gardeners will be on hand to teach seed starting, and there will be a newspaper pot-making demonstration, so visitors can make their own pots and start some seeds to take home. Information on square foot gardening will be available. Garden decorations crafted by our volunteers will be offered for sale to raise funds for expanding and maintaining the garden. Or just come by for a free cup of coffee and check out what’s been done and what is planned for the Gardens during its second season. Volunteers will be at work prepping the Gardens for spring.

Heritage Park Gardens is located behind Heritage Park in downtown Gardnerville, and is sponsored by the Town of Gardnerville and Main Street Gardnerville. For more information contact Carol Sandmeier at or the Town of Gardnerville office at 782-8027.
