Douglas gets grant to fight homelessness

Douglas County received a $157,152 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to battle homelessness. The grant was part of the Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Renewal awards, which provide funding for a range of assistance to homeless persons, including transitional housing, permanent housing and other supportive services. “The blight of homelessness is a persistent problem in our state,” Sen.
