Douglas students shine at Reno science fair

A host of Douglas County students made their mark at the regional science fair and invention convention in Reno on March 27-28. The following placed in the science fair portion of the event, in both individual and team categories: Mrs. Valiquette’s first-grade class from Meneley Elementary took second for their project Gravity Rocks. Fourth-grader Tyra Best from the Douglas County 4-H Science Club received an honorable mention for the Solutions to Oil Spills. Zephyr Cove Elementary fourth-graders Aidan Rippet and Jack Forvilly placed third for Magnetism, and ZCES fourth-graders Cory Chase, Giovanna Cibulsky and Kailoa Alona took fourth for Charging …
