Minden Fortnightly donates $12,000

Minden Fortnightly, Carson Valley’s oldest service club, held their annual fundraiser, “Wishes Come True in Carson Valley” back in November. This year Minden Fortnightly was able to give back to Carson Valley over $12,000.

With these proceeds they were able to give to the following projects/organizations: Town of Minden, Backpack Buddies Consortium, City of Refuge, Meals on Wheels Program, Carson Valley Arts Council, Carson Valley Food Closet, Suicide Prevention Network, Douglas County Center for Hope & Healing, Family Support Council, Family Support Council-Women’s Shelter, Sierra Nevada No. 730 20/30 Club-Back to School Children’s Shopping Spree, Douglas County Public Library-2013 Summer Reading Program, Carson Valley Girls Softball Association, Main Street Gardnerville-Beverly A. Caputo Public Mural, Douglas High School Mentoring Program, and Girl’s State.

Minden Fortnightly also continues their efforts to support Austin’s House and maintain an outreach program in the community throughout the year.
